Vineyard sits on the old Geneva Steel Mill site, so what's under your yard isn't natural soil. Avalawn designs for what's actually in the ground.

Decades of steel production left behind a site that had to be fully remediated before anyone could build on it. That remediation process used recycled industrial concrete as fill and road base throughout the development. The soil varies from one street to the next and even between neighboring lots, so the prep that works two doors down may not work for your yard.
Vineyard's proximity to Utah Lake adds a second factor: the water table sits close to the surface across most of the city. A shallow water table may create drainage problems around patios, trampolines, and sports courts when homeowners don’t account for it early in the project.
Between the fill soil and the lake elevation, we treat every Vineyard property as its own site assessment rather than assuming a standard new-construction plan will work as-is.
Took advantage of the winter discount on their filters and it saved us a ton of money on our irrigation revitalization project. We have been wanting to get our sprinklers up and running ever since we moved in but have never been able to fit it in our budget until now. Very fair pricing and a great crew to back it up.
If you have secondary water, you know the battle with your pressure. Luckily Kordell had just the right solution to fix my pressure issue in my back yard zone. They were in and out in a day with nothing left behind except a perfectly working system. Super pleased with the crew over at Avalawn.
We did our project in these months to save some money, and even in the freezing weather, the crew showed up with a great attitude. They were able to make our whole yard water wise in just a week. Xeriscaping some areas due to inefficiencies and overhauling the whole sprinkler system. 10/10 times would recommend these guys to take care of any of your irrigation needs.
Davin and Kordell (and crew) are the hardest workers! They turned my 200 foot back fence into a low maintenance beauty. Worked with me when adding/changing stuff. Kordell is very knowledgeable and saved me from having to replace the 9 trees I bought because we have secondary water. Got it done quick. AvaLawn went the extra mile to repair my fountain pump while adding some water lines that the original installer neglected to add. Kordell knew his stuff about fountains too! I would highly recommend!
We had Avalawn do our drip system, removal of a water feature, and install rock in all the boarders and beds. I can’t say enough good things about how well they did! They took a run down yard and made it look amazing! The pictures don’t do it justice. I will be referring them to anyone I know who is shopping for anything yard related. They were prompt and efficient. We have future projects we are saving up for and we will use them again!! Thank you so much Avalawn
We’ve had a persistent issue with our fountain for three summers and two other companies couldn’t figure it out. Kordell came out and pinpointed the issue super fast. He knew his stuff when it came to water features. While he was here he fixed our drip line that we didn’t even know had a leak. I’ve worked with plenty of contractors in my day but it's rare to find one that actually wants to help rather than doing the bare minimum. I highly recommend Avalawn!
I had Avalawn clean our waterfall, empty the reservoir tank and make sure our pump was working properly Eric did a wonderful job cleaning and refreshing the waterfall after years of buildup and yuck. It looks beautiful! He even went so far as to rearrange the rocks so that it sounded much more pleasing. They were easy to work with, and pricing was more than fair. I will definitely use them again.
Crews prepared the remediated Geneva Steel Mill site for Vineyard using fill that varied across the development. Composition can genuinely differ from lot to lot, which is why we assess your specific property before designing anything.
Vineyard is near Utah Lake's elevation, so groundwater often lies closer to the surface than elsewhere in the valley. A shallow water table may cause water to pool around patios and other flat hardscape when the installation plan doesn’t address drainage from the start.
It's common in Vineyard. Since nearly every property here is new construction, establishment issues and bare patches are more common than in a city with older, settled lawns. We amend the soil and adjust watering to help a young lawn actually take root.
Compact lots are the norm in Vineyard, and there are still plenty of options. We focus on efficient layouts that fit entertaining space, kid-friendly features, and curb appeal into a smaller footprint without it feeling cramped.
Often, yes. A shallow water table affects how we grade and drain around larger flat features, so we plan for it up front rather than treating it as an afterthought once the surface is already in place.
We design and install the full irrigation system, tailored to your lot's specific soil and drainage conditions. Since Vineyard's ground varies more than most cities, getting the irrigation design right for your property in particular matters more here.
Whether you're working with fill soil, a shallow water table, or a compact new-construction lot, Avalawn can design a landscape built for what's actually on your property. Reach out for a free quote.
